Throughout my BSc and MSc, I developed an interest and passion for biogeochemistry in aquatic environments. I’m particularly interested in biogeochemical cycling at land-lake/ocean transitions and soil/sediment-water interfaces, and perturbations to biogeochemical cycles due to climate change and human activities. My MSc research investigated nutrient silicon cycling and silicon limitation of diatom growth in a coastal eutrophic embayment in the Laurentian Great Lakes (Hamilton Harbour, Ontario). Having spent most of my life around or in water, I’m passionate about aquatic science and protecting this precious resource.
